ZOHAR
Zohar Cabo is a seventeen year old pianist from Beacon, NY. He has been surrounded by musical influence since birth and began his early piano/keyboard career by performing in venues (Dizzy’s Club, the Bitter End, Times Square, Ralph Pucci's Showroom, Clearwater Festival, Rockwood Music Hall, etc.) across NYC and the Hudson Valley. He started playing piano at five years old and began his jazz journey with the Jazz Academy at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Currently attending Fiorello H. Laguardia High school as an instrumental major, his interest span across many genres such as gospel, fusion, jazz, latin, and r&b. He has opened up for Norah Jones and also accompanied Christian McBride and Gregory Porter.
Some of his piano mentors include the late Barry Harris, J3PO, and Ahmed Alom Vega.Some of his other inspirations include Anomalie, Oscar Peterson, Red Garland, and Bill Evans. He is also a part of a collective known as The Cabo Project which is comprised of his family members that released a multi genre album during the height of the covid pandemic. You can now hear his many inspirations and influences seep through the music he creates with his brother and their post-latin jazz duo, Zohar & Adam. They are recording out of The Loft Recording Studios working on their debut album which will be released in the next few months
