ADAM
Adam Cabo is a twenty-year-old drummer/percussionist/producer from Beacon, NY. Working as a professional musician since the age of 10, he has performed in places/festivals such as N.Y. WinterJazzfest, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, SXSW, Micheal Jackson Invincible Tribute, Carnegie Hall, Time Square Ecofest, Beacon Bonfire Festival, O+ Festival, The Frick Collection, and many more. As a young kid, Adam learned to play music alongside his siblings in multiple family groups (The Cabo Project, Solar Sound Band).
Then, he attended the Professional Performing Arts Highschool where he studied acting before going on to do professional theatre work (Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival, It’s Easy, and more). Simultaneously, he also began opening up his ears to the influence of improvisational music and began his jazz studies with The Fat Cats Afro-Cuban Jazz Youth Orchestra, led by Zack O’Farril (son of Arturo O’Farril). As a part of this big band, Adam began to develop his percussion skills on the Cajon and Timbales. He even got the privilege of studying Rhumba in Cuba and opening up for the legendary Los Munequitos De Matanzas.
After graduating from highschool and beginning to write original music with his brother Zohar, Adam turned down a scholarship for acting to pursue music and develop what is now, Zohar & Adam. At this time both brothers were studying Jazz at the Trinity Church with Steve Wilson as a part of Jazz House Kids, run by Christian McBride and Melissa Walker. For the last year, Adam has been putting his efforts towards engineering/mixing/and co-producing Zohar & Adam’s debut album, Osmosis (recorded at The Loft Recording Studios at the courtesy of Al Hemberger). You can also catch him playing drums alongside singer-songwriters Lila Blue, and his older sister NOGA.
